The ' Trail of the Tiger is an appropriate theme for this year ' s annual. As we look into the past, we are most impressed with countless events in Lewis and Clcfrk ' s history Which are the milestones that mark the Trail of the Tiger. These milestones range from recognition for high academic accomplishments by Lewis and Clark students, faculty, and the school in general to great athletic achievements by various teams and individuals. But above and beyond these signal honors, we find the Trail of the Tiger clearly marked by the high standards, great spirit, and fine traditions of our school. Although Lewis and Clark has, this year, a much smaller student body and a new administration, the student body has accepted the challenge of maintaining Lewis and Clark ' s excellent image. As your new principal, I wish to compliment you in general, and the Class of 1966 in particular, for meeting, as you have, the changes of this past year. I feel that the Seniors, especially, sensed a need for extraordinary effort on their part to keep alive the Tiger spirit, and they have provided much of the leadership to ac- complish just that. To the Class of 1966 I say — may your spirit always be representative of the true Tiger spirit by supporting that which is best in whatever endeavor you undertake. William E. L. Donner
