The Lewis Lacrosse Team has had a very successful past. Despite their stiff competi- 8 tion, they have almost always been on top. The members of the 1987-1988 Lewis La- crosse Team are: Damon Bellitire, Kirk Bish- op, Brendan Bond, Aaron Bridge, Thomas Fudge, Aaron Gillette, Mike Kurpiewski Steve Kurpiewski, Marc Lee, Matt Morgan, Jeremy Northcutt, Will Parks, Gareth Pot- ter, Brian Rizzo, Eric Rosenberg, Mike Ruiz, Andy Vanloy, John Wick, and Chris Wood. Y Lacrosse is the oldest sport in America. It originated among the North American Indi- ans, and they called it bagataway. Lacrosse was later named by the French. They called it la crosse because the bagataway stick looked like a bishopls crozier.
