JUNIOR HISTORY PON returning to school, after having spent an enjoyable summer vacation, we set to work as Juniors with renewed zest and zeal. How much the title meant to us! One of our classmates won the worthy title of champion in the boat races held during xacation and extending into the early autumn. With the title was presented the trophy by Mr Thomas McCombs, of Chestei Pennsylyanla The xolleyball season faxored our girls to a great extent Inteiest in sports and good sportsmanship was a pronounced characteilstic throughout our class As the basketball season approached we vs ere again participants in the sport Manv members of our class were fortunate enough to acqulre first and second places on the team As usual we are well represented in the band and orchestra After Christmas our hrst huge piece of work was due our History English themes This work was new to us for we learned research methods Our themes proved to be worth all our eiorts, our grades rewarded us for our tedlum Flnally, we were confronted with the problem of 1a1s1ng funds fol our class treasury We sold candy at basketball games, disposed of a num ber of lamps, and held numeious bakes All these had contributed to oul welfare, but with the Washington trip only a yeai hence, more money was needed It was decided that we the Junlors would sponsor an operetta This was glven in the school Hl1d1tOllLlITl on May twenty fifth and proved to be very successful Probably the most gala occasion oi the year was the Junioi Senior Promenade Much time was expended in preparation to make th1s 'iffau a memorable one A very delightful time was reported by 1ll After wishing the Seniors an enjoyable trip to Washington and much happiness ln the future, we departed from dear old Lewes High School to return next year as Seniors We think this our JLIYIIOI Yeal to be one of our most happy and beneficial thus far XI XRI XN XX DI- I OTTI- IIFI I- NI ISOUKH XXI XIILR XIXRI XRILI' BEILBI- XIHXRK ARET BROEDERS XI XRX BRITI'INf HHXXI XI IL I- BLR PON IJOROTIIX1 I7 XX IIJSUN l-X X IJOIJIJ XII IJUIIR N I XQXH IXK lx Ill IDNOX IXLIx INIRXXI IOL IN IXLIR XXI XXI Xs Y V .
