HISTORX' OF CLASS OF 1934 HE Class of 1934 has an enrollment of thirty-six pupils. Through- out its high school career it has enjoyed the distinction of being a large group. In the School year 1929-30, we, as members of the Eighth Grade, were well represented in the various activities, band, orchestra, and Glee Club. The athletically-inclined pupils participated in the Intramural Basketball Schedule When the title of Freshman Class was conferred upon us, we stood it the middle of our High School career We looked forward to three piospeious and happy years and the result has not been disappointing As Sophomores the present Seniors suffered a slight set back Due to our large enrollment a division was made The boys were supervlsed by M1 Nickle, while Miss Daxis filled the position of girls dean This sepaiation eventually resulted in an estrangement which was prexalent during the winter term However, a reunion was realized when the Sophomore Class had its Beacon picture taken en masse Prox ing the old proverb Experience is the best teacher, the Junior Class profited by its display of stubbornness the previous year Under the supeixision of Mr Nickle the class co operated to the nth degree The bakes held that year were successful, but our important financial enter prise vs as in form of an operetta Bits O Blarney given in the school auditorium on June 2 1933 The Junior Senior Promenade was the blight spot of the social season and everyone admltted that it was a huge success As Seniors we hltched our wagon to the well known star under the guidance of Mr Nickle, ou1 dean, and the ability of Ralph Jones, our piesldent The star ln this case happened to be the Windy Clty Chicago, a smaller constellation was a trip to Washington, in case our great finan cial aim was not realized Toward this goal all our hopes and labors were duected On December 8 the class presented Booth Tarklngton s Seven teen The production was an overwhelming success and a great help financiallv As usual the year was dotted with numerous bakes As vse go to press the Class IS looking forward to the Commencement QXQICISGS with either Washington or Chicago looming on the horizon SENlORS FAVORITE EXPRESSIONS Hazel Jones Fanne Shockley Hazel McCracken Eunlce Stock Elvira Melson Ruth Rowe Elizabeth Palmer Elva Megee Ellzabeth Shockey Ruth Warrington Shirley Cullen Mary Maull Catherine Wolfe Ella Thompson Mildred Marshall Frances Baylns Anne Burton 1 Cl!
