HOT GUESS NUMBERS. Juniors Jerome Mock and Elise Garner wear two of their favorite Guess line tops. rom London punk to New I York chic and ivy league preppie to Western ca¬ sual, fashion zigzagged its way across the U.S.A. Leading the pack of fash¬ ion designers was GUESS, com¬ ing out with an entire line of hot and high priced items, like watches, jeans and sweats. The soft drink industry, too, branched out and captured a share of the lucrative youth market with Coca-cola and Pepsi sportswear. Eighty-seven saw gold and silver rise not only on Wall Street, but in the fashion mark¬ etplace as well. Metallic belts, shoes and purses were grabbed up by anew genera¬ tion of trend setters. Casual Western wear still hung around though. Tassels were in on jackets, jeans and boots. Fitness and fashion made for a cozy twosome. Kids rom¬ ped around in colorful jogging outfits and dashed to classes in Reeboks. Fila and Nikes. Mousse me! Gel me! Color me wild! Hairstyles screamed with an array of brand new hair care products. The ' ' bob ' ' was back, with a distinctive 80 ' s up¬ date. loose curls and waves and oversized brushes.
