class of 1966 With the elections of our officers, Joel Slosar—president, Mickey Rigotti— vice-president, Carolyn Mallars—secretary, and John Minarich—treasurer, we began our last year. Academically, we were exposed to widely varied fields. In our Civics and Economics classes we studied the complexities of the country’s governmental and economic systems. Trigonometry and physics completed our studies in advanced math and science, while second year studies in business courses prepared us for competition in the business world. In English, we studied the works of Shakespeare and Chaucer in Macbeth and the Canterbury Tales. We discussed the human mind and behavior in Psychology. This year, the girls reversed their freshman year for now they were Big Sisters. Homecoming rolled by and witnessed many smiles, screams, tears with the crowning of Susan Plinovich as our Queen. The paper drive, light bulb sale, the Senior-Faculty Basketball Game, our heated prom meetings, and the Senior Reception were some of the things we did together. Never will we forget “Silver Bells,” the Inaugural Ball, our friendly Saturday night “get-togethers,” Mac’s after the game, the Clock after Homecoming, the Oddfellows Club in Hobart with the Basooties playing “Gloria,” nor the lack of bands at our school dances. Still the big moment was yet to come. As we ordered our calling cards and invitations and were measured for our caps and gowns we were actually seniors and the big day was not far off. Among the activities leading up to graduation were Activity Day, Senior Luncheon and Baccalaureate services. Who could ever forget the magic of the night of May 13, the Senior Prom, the Post Prom, and the fun-filled day afterwards. On June 3rd, we watched our classmates receive their diplomas and lis¬ tened to the addresses of Sid Spector, our Valedictorian and Linda Lesniak, our Salutatorian. As we walked across the stage, we began to look to the future and what it holds for us with confidence and we knew that we must now face a world of greater dimensions than we have known.
