“They said it couldn ' t be done, but we did it.” This year as you skim through the book you will notice various changes including a new section and an increased number of pages. These additions could not have been achieved without the help of those other than staff members. The Gary Hotel and Frank ' s store for men are to be commended for their co-operation for the prom pictures, and the Glen Park businessmen for their advertising and patronage. In order to take pictures for advertising, Broadway traffic had to be stopped and Officer S. C. Stefan performed his duty well. Special recognition is extended to members of our faculty and student body. Those we would like to recognize for their contributions are Miss Angela Hannagan who had the tedious job of correcting all copy that appears on these pages, Mr. Joseph Mrak for the use of his room and especially his telephone, Jan Felton who loaned us her literary ability. The two men who are really responsible for making this book a success are Mr. Frank Krause and Mr. George Strimbu. Mr. Krause is a representative from Wm. J. Keller Inc. whose advice and suggestions enabled us to institute new ideas and techniques into this yearbook. The staffs ' deepest appreciation and thanks go to Mr. George Strimbu, our advisor, for he gave us the needed essentials—his time, confidence, knowledge, and smile that make the ' 64 Quill and Blade one to be long remembered. The ’64 Quill and Blade Staff COLOPHON The 1964 Quill and Blade has been produced by Wm. J. Keller Inc. of Buffalo, New York, utilizing their improved Keller Velvatone Lithographic process. The first 24 pages of the book are printed Micro-tone in Gravure Green ink on Curtis 80 lb. White Colophon paper. The balance of the book is printed in Keller special mix, pitch black ink on Mohawk’s fine 80 lb. White Poseidon paper. The end sheets are printed in a special-mix ink, Keller Designer color W 912-1 on 65 lb. White Hammermill Cover. In addition to the one eight-page gatefold tip-in, printed in black ink on the 80 lb. White Poseidon, six four-page tip-ins have been used, employing the special Microtone process on the inside spreads, printed in Gravure Green Ink with the outside pages printed in black ink. The paper is the 80 lb. White Colophon. The text has been set in Times New Roman, a new type-face designed for reading comfort. Running heads are Times Italic and major headings are set in News Gothic. The cover material is natural Monks Cloth with the design silk screened in one color—dark green. This issue has been printed in an edition of 1575 books, the size 9 x 12.
