Thank-you and Good-bye Being a principal is a full-time job. You must deal with students, teachers, and parents; disciplining, ad- vising, and counseling. Aside from this, you have still found the time to give us something, a sense of pride for our school and for ourselves. This will remain with us for the rest of our lives. In the two years you have been here, we've found you to be involved with students and faculty as people. You weren't just a figurehead in your office. We've seen you at all extra-curricular activities, from football games to concerts. We thank you for your support. In this, your last year at Levittown Memorial, we would like to express our appreciation and we wish you much happiness in the years to come. The position of assistant principal must be filled by someone who always puts the benefit of the student first, and who is constantly aware of the goings-on in the school. For years, you have done the job with understanding and a concern for each and every stu- dent. You’ve played an important part in every good thing this school has done, and we hope that the programs you've started will continue. You may not be here in body, but your enthusiastic spirit will be a part of this school for many years to come! Thanks, good-bye, and good luck, Mr. Noble! |ohn Carney Alan Fleischman Florence Alperl Many times a teacher's job goes beyond 2:25, and their time is not just dedicated to marking tests. Most of our teachers are willing to stay after school to help the student, even if it is just to talk. They know how much it can help if he knows that someone understands and cares. This carries into the classroom, also. This is the last year here at l.M.H.S. for several members of our faculty. We want to thank them for giving of themselves and for caring about their students. We wish them the best of luck in the future. 25

Jr. High Administration I extend to each of you my compliments upon having achieved a milestone that has come about after twelve years of hard work. Your achievement is heightened by the fact that your and your classmates will be remem- bered as the graduating class that took part in the cele- bration of Memorial's 25th Anniversary. Be proud of the fact that each of you played an integral role in your school’s history. Your graduation from Levittown Memorial High School signifies your readiness to step out into the world and assume your position in life. As you strive to maintain the individuality you have nurtured during your school years, you may find that you are judged by group goals and standards developed by others. How you will learn to cope will influence your future happiness. I join with your classmates and teachers who have monitored your progress from grade 7 to the present in wishing you future success. Remember that old adage success is doing all you can and then some; it is often the then some that spells the difference between success and failure and as your future becomes your present, remember back with fondness the good times and bad, the good friends and others, and everything that collec- tively went into the last seven years of your life as a student at Memorial. Good luck, always!!! lames V. Garvey Principal Congratulations to the Class of 1978 on the publication of the Silver Anniversary edition of ECHOES! I hope that through the years ahead it will bring back to memory the echoes of many happy voices and the happy days of youth. Your choice of Individuality” as a theme for your year- book is most approriate. It underscores the fact that every human being is unique in a number of ways and, by his very individuality, contributes something to life and liv- ing. Best wishes for a bright future! loseph E.
