We have learned many things here, perhaps the most important of which is that learning goes on everywhere—not only in the classroom, but in every facet of our school life. Because of the won- derful opportunities afforded to us by our audi- torium and stage set-up, drama productions were possible. Not only did we reap the rewards from participation, but we learned through experience— through doing. We learn through books and through people. We learn to prepare for jobs, military service, further education. By law we are obliged to come to school in order to learn; we voluntarily elect to stay after to learn more. When we think back on this past year, our memories will go beyond the classes, the teachers, the dances—we will re- member our scholastic activities after 3:05 and what they have brought us.

Both in the gym class and after school, sports are an integral part of L.M.H.S. life. School spirit, pride in our teams, and good sportsmanship all are encouraged by the fine ath- letic squads that Levittown Memorial constantly produces. Our boy’s ath- letic season began with soccer, foot- ball, cross-country, and tennis in the fall, basketball and wrestling in the winter, and concluded with lacrosse, baseball, and track in the spring. The girls showed a wonderful spirit of par- ticipation in both intra-mural and in- ter-school athletics. The girls hockey, volleyball, softball, basketball, and ten- nis teams competed within the school as well as with other nearby high schools. The team’s excellent records in com- petition showed not only spirited, well- trained athletic participants, but pa- tient, knowing coaches. We would like to give thanks to our team’s coaches for the many hours of careful instruc- tion that they have given to make the L.M.H.S. athletic teams as successful as they were.
