This year the task of choosing a dedicatee was very difficult. But after cai-eful consideration the 1963 ECHOES staff is dedicating this 10th anniversary edi- tion to Mr. C. J. Matina. With his “Cheerio, old chap,” and his “Jot that down, Boswell,” Mr. Matina has captured the admiration of both the student body and the faculty here at L.M.H.S. Always sparkling with wit and humor, he has been a friend as well as a teacher to the people of L.M.H.S. So that we may better our cultural heritage Mr. Matina has imbued in us the language of our fore- fathers. Deeply devoted to the spirit of L.M.H.S. he can be seen, with his camera, at all school functions. We can consider him the “chief backbone” of the school news- paper “The Spotlight” of which he has been advisor for the past three years. In closing, we of the yearbook have but one thing to say. That being: “As we raise our glass of milk on high we toast this 10th anniversay edition of ECHOES to you—Mr. Matina!” 4
