Some of them are and some are not surprised when she greets them with the little monkey routine. It makes no difference about the age or how long they have been out of school, she thinks they are still little, and though some of them are as big as apes by that time they are also monkeys. Therefore, due to this habitual phrase of scolding, greeting, and description which has become a tradition in senior English, we dedicate the 1955 El Lobo to Mrs. Nina Birtciel because of her moral achievement and quaint personality. The theme of this annual, being dedicated to Mrs. B., is suitably called YOU LITTLE MONKEYSJ' ' 41':', ' 5:35:2.'.1.L9c-H135-siirlllE1 lreifzls-?rff:.'Ee 5 .JZ zs. 3 3 if If 9 Q 1 J? 2-1 Alf V ! 8 aj-. , .. , V , r , ,. ,api ,. . , . , ., i-', -, 1 , ,., ...,, , .JL I-I.-.. -1.--,.1---5,-:.,f..v,-,-.'.4,-.,. -5 .Q-.ry -2 .,... .f h--1 - .3,,g x-3,5-J. Marcom sits in front of a map showing the residents of all grade school students. Because of all the new con- struction at senior high, junior high. and the new East ele- mentary schools, new zones are having to be arranged. Completing his sixth year of service as superintendent, Mr, Marcom is extremely active in civic educational groups. O. W. Marconi Superintendent O. R. Watkins Business Manager Counselor W. O. Tipton has to be every- one's pal in his line of work. He keeps com- plete records on all students, and acts as go- between for the students, teachers, and par- ents. Artie B. Forehand School Board President Ofall the accomplishments ofthe year developed through the school board, the outstanding problem was ainecessary solution to the building plans. Until a satisfactory arrangement was found, their efforts were extensive in trying to find whatthe people desired and thought would be the best plan. The board is ve ry pleased with the architect's plans and thinks that patrons and students will like these improvements. Itwill take about one year and a half to complete all building projects that are in view at the present. The second project in importance is the completion of the re-evaluation of all property in this district. The board expects a seventeen-man commit- tee to assist Mr. Watkins in this matter. One of the greatest feats of the 1954-55 term that has already been com- pleted is the new stadium and lighting system on the football field. W. I. O'Connor School Board Secretary 6 pon. L. L. Cox I.
