-1-L Seniors were just kids again when they came in Senior Kid Day costumes on April 1. Standing in the chow line and dishing out the beans and barbecue are L. H. S. students at the picnic in the city park which climaxed Texas Day activities on April 21. 'in Guests at the head table were Gayle Ewing, Curtis Israel, senior class president, Mr. Clapp, principal, Derry Don Harding, invocation, Kay Russell, junior class presi- dent, Roy Bass, Texas Tech professor and guest speaker, and Superintendent and Mrs. O. W. Marcom. Deep In the I-Ie an of Texas was the theme of the junior-Senior Banquet which featured predominantly pink and silver western deco- rations and was held at the Cal Boykin Hotel, May S. Q N 1 . A Cactus and silvery tumble weeds decorated the tables, and bright blue bandanas served as favors. One ofthe lastbig school affairs of the year, the banquet will long be remembered as one of the best ever given and as the first to be held in the new Cal Boykin Hotel here in Levelland. About 250 guests were present.
