The annual Senior Maga- zine Drive was the cabinet's next proiect. Each member of the class helped sell specified magazines, the profits going into the Senior Class treasury. The drive was very successful. The first semester cabinet also began planning for the Senior Prom. The location, price of tickets, orchestra, dinner, etc., were all taken care of by the cabinet, well in advance of the Prom. ln order to give everyone an opportunity to help choose the Prom loca- tion, a Senior After-School Dance was held, at which time the class selected the Deauville Club for their Prom. Among other lesser activities, the cabinet select- ed the three graduation announcements upon which the class later voted. Gary Mckoberts President Under the very capable leadership of President Gary McRoberts, the second semester Senior Cabinet finished planning the Senior Prom festivities. After weeks of work and effort, a very wonderful Prom was held on Saturday, March 7, 1959, at the Deauville Club, Santa Mon- ica. Bids of 513.00 per couple entitled those attending to a full course prime rib dinner in addition to an evening of danc- ing to the music of Michael Dee and the Keys. Theme of the once in a lifetime affair, was Stairway to the Stars. The final responsibilities for the graduation announcements were also handled by the second semester cabinet. Selection and ordering of announcements were com- pleted and deliveries were made late in May. The cabinet also sponsored money raising proiects, one of which was a pre- Easter dance. Profits from this event went into the class treasury. The annual Pan? cake Breakfast sponsored by the Senior Class, was held on Saturday, March 21, 1959. Advertising all the pancakes you can eat, the class served to a large crowd, and once again, the treasury was well fed. Again this year, Catalina open- ed its ports to Leuzinger Seniors for their Senior Ditch Day. Swimming, bicycling, and eating occupied everyone's time. As June approached and thought turned to June 18, 1959, Seniors and their cabinet prepared for graduation. After the cere- monies, the Seniors departed to the Pal- ladium for their fun-filled All Night Graduation Party. V27 E ru Diane Hansen Secretary IC, ,,-Yfz- ,fr of '1' f vf , V, fl' - fe 1 .
