A 1 ., I 12.5,-fi 325333 gg!-.fe ,V 7 N 'Wm Leuzinger's student government is much the same as that of the United States. There is a House of Representatives which seats a member from every 3rd period class on campus. Also in the government is a Senate where each school club is represented. The Student Court acts as judge for students who overstep the Student Body Consti- tution. When the meetings are called to order every morning during 2nd period, the offi- cers swing into action. These officers are responsible for all activities that occur at Leuzinger. They are in complete charge of their meetings and see that parliamentary procedure prevails. It is their duty to see that bills beneficial to students are passed and voted upon at elections. The House is under the supervision of'Mari Boryon and George Key, while the Senate has Lillian Shambeck and John O'Neill, who offer advice when the group is in need of guidance. Being active in the student government requires many hours of hard work, but it is quite rewarding to watch Leuzinger run smoothly. D. Cone, T. DeLaTorre, D

Summers Heading our student government are the House of Representatives and Senate. Together they form committees. enforce and check the Honor System which was initiated last year, and grade the campus on its cleanliness. Also the Senate and House Work hand in hand to promote the American Field Service program which enables Leuzinger to receive tvvo exchange students and send one Olympian abroad. The Senate's duties include arranging for the Sports Queen Parade and the Corona- tion Ball, following the Sports Queen elections. Most student body assemblies are planned and carried out by the Senate who see that each assembly is educational as well as interesting. Members of the Senate attend forums and youth meetings to learn of other school governments and new ideas for our student body. W'orking hard, the House encouraged students to donate the largest sum ever collected for the Big 4 Drive. They also toiled many hours in an effort to have a Sports Night as a dedication for the new L.H.S. gymnasium. To aid the A.F.S. pro- gram they went all out to raise a sufficient fund for the Penny a Day Drive as House members eagerly collected pennies for two weeks. These are just a few of the activities sponsored by our student government. as they continually better Leuzinger and manage an excellent system of student organization. il HOUSE OF REPRESEN- TATIVES - Znd Semester.
