The student government at Leuzinger we believe, is one of the best in Southern California and the Senate part of this organization does its share in living up to that reputation. The Senate is composed of 46 members, each person represent- ing a school club, including all officers elected by the student body. The biggest event of the year is the Senate sponsored, Sports Queen Parade. Patterned after the famed Rose Parade, almost every club enters a float and a candidate for Queen. Then comes the exciting Coronation Ball, where the Sports Queen is crowned by the student body president. Bay League Forums are another Senate project. All the high schools in the Bay League get together each quarter to discuss problems of mutual concern. The insight and knowledge that is gained is taken back to the respective schools. Planning the Christmas assembly, presented the Senate mem- bers with the complex job of getting together a program that would be able to operate under the handicap of no auditorium. The Senate did a grand job in overcoming this obstacle, resulting in an excellent Christmas Assembly held on the football field. Along with joyous festivities of the holiday season, the spirit of charity was remembered. With the cooperation of the House of Representa- tives, QOU stockings filled with food and toys were collected for Iuvenile Hall in Los Angeles.
