Class Prophecy As we came back to Lester Pralrle after bemg gone twenty years the f1rst thmg we looked for was the schoolhouse We went to the place where our good old Class of 50 graduated but d1dn t fmd any hlgh school students lt was occup1ed by two hundred elementary students The buxldmg had been remodeled somewhat They now had escalators where the stairs used to be, a two way speaking system so that the superintendent Emmert Dose could lzsten to all the classes One of the most lmportant thmgs was a sound proof room equlpped wlth the tape recorder that our class presented the school Fmdmg no hlgh school section ln the buzldmg we now proceeded down town to jo Jo s Cafe now called Strey s Steak House The location of the new high school IS adjacent to the football field now equ1pped wxth hghts for mght games and a telev1s1on booth to televlse the athletic events Oh yes and the bleachers were wlth plush cushloned seats under whxch was an electrical system whlch kept your feet warm Thxs system was mstalled by the Emzch Plumbmg and Heatlng Company We dec1ded to go down the State Hxghway 261 The flrst large plant we came to was Gregory Henfllngs Chemmcal Plant As we rounded the curve on the west end of Lester we stopped mn at the Duck In Quack Around Waddle Out Cafe Due to the fact that people were always stoppmg m late at mght Ruth Kuhlrnan declded to start thls cafe Here we saw DeVan Knacke delzvermg Lesto Ice Cream manufactured by Ronald Kamman Proceeding on our journey we noticed a new blue Dodge on the Ralph Wolter Dairy Farm Trymg to flnd the owner of the Dodge we walked into the barn and saw Elton Klaustermexer now the Mcleod County Agricultural Agent Later m the evenmg someone told us that lhere was a large riding stable on the out skirts of town Bemg very 1nqu1s1t1ve people we went out there to see what It was like We were very surprlsed to see that the propnetor was Hlllard Klaustermexer We began to wonder what had happened to the rest of the girls m the Class of 50 so we asked Hillard He told us that even though Elaxne Lampher had saxd she would never be a farmer s wzfe she was now l1v1ng on a farm near Howard Lake At thls t1me a Mobllgas truck went by and we were lnformed that lt was Helen Fruetel and her husband who had taken over her dad s buslness He went on to tell us that Marxan Adams was one of the highest pald secretames at the Cheese Plant ln Lester Pralrze Lila Seefeldt had succeeded 1n marrymg her boss after only a few months at her f1rst Job Last but not least Conme Rattenstatter had taken over the Ahce Haney Rest Home After many hard years of work she had made It mto one of the largest rest homes in the state of Minnesota 17 0. .
