The Student Council of Leslie High School is under the leadership of Mrs. Rearick and Mr. Byrum. George Raymond is president, Richard Wallace, vice- presidentg Margaret Gearing, secretary, and Joyce Jones, treasurer. The council has charge of the assemblies, pep meetings, dances, and other functions of the school. Their newest undertaking is the sponsoring of the chapel services which are held every two weeks. The pastors of the different churches participate. It is hoped that this will be a successful project and it will be a permanent feature of the school for the future. The council purchased a plaque, 'Oath of Allegiance' for the school. that also Members of the council are elected for one year terms by their classmates president and secretary of the classes are automatically on the council and two representatives are elected to serve with them. Mr. Phillip Fredrickson capably resumed Mr- Br0nSOD'S position as band director and is now proving his great leadership- The band was an inspiration to the boys On th! football team and to the spectators. It kms participated in pep meetings, football games, band festivals, parades, and in general school activities.
