These are the kids who as freshmen take the brunt of initiation. They are working hard to find their own identities and decide future plans. They are the ones who contribute greatly in sports and activities but sometimes don’t get the credit that they deserve. The pride and the tradition in LOHS athletics comes from the big dreams that each athlete has combined with the hard work, dedication and time he she puts into it. Having all the right moves, the volleyball team compiled a season record of 19-4 while winning the conference championship, the district championship, and the Region IA Runner up title. The team’s experience and dedication made them contenders right from the beginning of the season. That, combined with the talents of the new players, made for a winning combination. The highlight of the season was playing the region tournament in the new Mayo Civic Center. In the first match, we defeated Wabasha-Kellogg; in the finals we lost to a tough Kenyon team that later finished 4th in the state tournament. It was a very memorable season! With only 1 returning starter from the year before, it was a shaky start with new kids learning to work together as 1 team. The team came together at the end of the season by nipping Caledonia. and next defeating Grand Meadow, in what was the most dramatic game of the season. Ending with a 10-12 record, they lose only 2 seniors and return a strong and promising nucleus for the 1987-88 season. 26 Track running scared Row 1: Erin Kennedy. Kia Wehrenberg. Cindy Warren. Just when it seems that we are never going to finish that assignment a teacher will add another one. That is the time that feelings of hate for that teacher surface. This is also the time that you know that that teacher is a good teacher because if he pushes us, then he is doing his job. HOMEWORK ADMINISTRATION Darold Yost SUPT. James Ipsen H.S. PRIN. EL. PRIM.
