We won the district title for the second year, tied for the conference championship and finished with our best season record to date 18-2. Although we were disappointed with the way our season ended there were many great things we will always remember. Our finest moment came in winning the district match against Preston (whom we tied for conference champs) and serving 100% in doing so. We will greatly miss the talent, enthusiasm and leadership of our seniors, but the younger members of the team show much potential and we eagerly await the 1985 season. Number one was that several players with limited experience would be getting a lot of playing time and secondly we were to reach our pre-season goals. Our younger players did play well as the season progressed, but injuries did hurt us in key games. Nevertheless, we had a successful season and advanced to the second round of the playoffs. We are graduating some fine players, but have an excellent nucleas returning. We look forward to a great year in 1985. Excellent In F.F.A. NATIONAL FFA CONVENTION Kansas City, Missouri To Nationals in Ag. Mechanics During this busy school year, the BOAC project was removing the old track from the practice field and reseeding and spraying the school lawn. The RRA also had its annual corn drive and bolt sales. The chapter also gave safty demonstrations on poison and eye protection to the elementary. At the State Fair, Jim Miller placed 3rd in tractor driving and the Dairy Judging Team placed 7th with Craig Nelson 9th individual. The Horse Judging team also placed 2nd with Brian Speer 2nd individual and Cory Speer 4th individual. At the National Convention the Ag Mechanics team placed 2nd with Jim Miller 6th individual. The American Farmer degree was given to Bonnie Olson and Leonard Soltau. At this years district contest the Soils team placed 1st. General Livestock 10th, Meats 3rd, Milk Quality 1st, Job Interview 1st, Farm Management 2nd, Ag Mechanics 2nd. All the teams attended the State Convention. At the annual banquet the Star Greenhand award was given to Kevin Janssen, and the Star Chapter Farmer was given to Kent Janssen.
