The Le Roy chapter was first organized in the spring of 1956 Quill and Scroll members main project has been the preparation and editing of the Le Roy High School Student Handbook which is given to all students free of charge on the first day of school each year. Because the I960 members of the Quill and Scroll were not chosen at the time of the printing of this yearbook, the staff was unable to obtain a picture 28

STUDENT COUNCIL In the early part of the school year, the Senior Class of I960 selected five seniors to run for Student Council President. The five were: Barb Wood, Carolyn Heathman, Eleanor Roe, Terry Lamon, and Ronnie Rich. From these five candidates, two finalists were elected by the student body in a preliminary election. The two finalists were Ronnie Rich and Terry Lamon. The final election ended as followsr President - Ronnie Rich, and Vice-President -Terry Lamon. Homecoming was the first activity the Student Council planned at their first meeting on September 22. Homecoming began with Coronation on October 7 with the snake dance and bonfire being held on October 8. Homecoming ended with a victorious game over Adams and a dance following the game. On November 12, 13, and 11 Ronnie Rich, Terry Lamon, and foreign exchange student Ulrich Mende, attended a Student Council Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The next big event the Student Council planned was the Winter Formal of December 12. This year's Student Council has worked hard and has accomplished much. LETTER MEN'S CLUB ROW ONE: Mr. Hardt, Dean Winkels, Marvin Hanna, Dick Tangen, Harlan Thompson, Ken McRoberts, Elwood Boe, Mr. Hubbard. ROW TWO: Leo Runde, Kermit Nauman, Ron Leonard, Larry Jacobson, Terry Heathman, Jerry Hale, Warren Barrett. ROW THREE: Doug Robinson, Warren Harden, Ken Schmidt, Larry Ullom, Gary Norby, Gary Austin, Paul Paulson. ROW POUR: Roger Dietrich, Gary Clevland, Earl Paulson, Bill Stephens, Delbert Lawrence, Ron Peters, Dalton Patterson. This newily formed Lettermen's Club was organized by Mr. Hubbard and Mr. Hardt. Officers elected were Dick Tangen, President; Gary Norby, Vice President; and Hon Leonard, Secretary-Treasurer. The ultimate goal of the club is to achieve success along with the rising demands of education and citizenship in regards to athletics. The Club's main project this year was to raise enough money to finance a movie camera and film to be used at athletic events. This venture has proved to be successful and the Lettermen's Club is looking forward to greater heights next year. The Lw Club also decided to purchase lettermen's Jackets at their own expense. The Club will also sponsor a picnic at the end of the school year for all eligible lettermen. 29
