Senior Class History (Continued) Next comes the tenth year of our outstanding education, during which many things took place, first of all we were the class to initiate rather than be initiated as we were the year before. Another event we will all remember is the Junior-Senior Banquet at which we were waiters and waitresses. The members of the class that were not chosen to serve were ushers at commencement exercises. This year we added to our yet small class, Elsie Gullickson, Hildreth Hanks, Betty Harding, Glenn Stevens, and Romaine Otto; but we lost Donnis Lundering, Raymond Storing, and DeBlonde Johnson. During our eleventh year we added Floyd Otto and lost Mary Bredeson and Elsie Rowe. Many events took place this year; putting on the Junior Class Play-- Junior Miss”, choosing class rings, preparing for the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, and escorting the Seniors into the auditorium at Commencement. We entered into our senior year with the loss of Betty Harding and Jewell Bauch. Some events scheduled for this year were our trip to Mason City for graduation pictures, the play-“Skidding”, senior skip day, the very lovely Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, and last but far from least — Commencement Exercises I We graduated with six of our original class: Donna Jean Brownlow, Maynard Hiller, Marjorie Larson, Clark Malcomson, Glenn Stevens, Jeanne Klassy. OUR CLASS Our class is going out in the world A long hard trip; it's true. And we will need a great many things In order to see it through. First of all our hopes and dreams, Ambitions, schemes and plans; The things we dreamed in '48, Will fill our future’s span. Next we pack our courage. The thing we’ll need the most To meet the world unafraid, The unrelenting host. Last we’ll pack our memories, But pack them all with care; For we’ll remember school days And the things we used to dare. Our memories can ne’er be taken, Our hopes and dreams can neither be. Our courage; these will last forever, Our class---eternity. Oh, God, we give thee thanks For Thy care to this present date. For with Thy help we realize We are the masters of our fate.”

SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Twelve years ago, September 5th, to be exact, our teacher, Miss Woodcock, was confronted with 24 small problems and their mothers. After roll call was taken, the first grade was found to consist of the following: Jewell Bauch, Donna Jean Brownlow, Jacqualine Despard, Joyce Despard, Ann Eckstein, Mary Lou Fister, Betty Jean Gould, Maynard Hiller, Darlene Lappin, Marjorie Larson, Donnis Lundering, James Mahoney, Clark Malcomson, Devota Nash, Twila Northness, Leon Olson, Lorraine Reed, Ernest Spencer, Jessy Sternberg, Glenn Stevens, Bernice Leiblei, Daryl Ford, Jeanne Klassy, Harland Knight. The next year, we reported to a different room, and different teacher. Miss Moe had charge of most of the original “problems” with addition of Grace Haskin and LaVonne Subra. This same year we lost four members; Mary Lou Fister, Leon Olson, Ernest Spencer, and Harland Knight. Our next year of training was under the leadership of the same teacher and with most of the Second grade members with the exception of Bernice Leiblei, and Grace Haskin, who left us and Paul Everson and Mary Alice Rasmusson, who were the new enrollees. In the fourth grade we again got a new teacher. Miss Johnson. Also three new pupils enrolled, David Briggs, Roy Peterson, and Charles Utesch. We lost two of our classmates, Paul Everson and Betty Gould this year. A new teacher and a new atmosphere added to our experiences during our fifth year. Our new instructor was Miss Sielstad. During this year we lost three classmates; Charles Utesch, Roy Peterson and Daryl Ford. The sixth year addition more than offset our losses the previous year. This year we gained five; Mary Bredeson, Robert Holeman, Bill King, Sid Berg, and Freda Timm. This year was not totally a gainful one in attendance however as three members of our class left us. They were: David Briggs, Joyce Despard, and Mary Rasmusson. Our first Junior High year was begun by losing four students: Ann Eckstein, Glenn Stevens, LaVonne Subra, and Jessy Sternberg. This year we got a new home room supervisor. Miss Nelva DeGroodt. This year, and for the next five our classes were divided with an instructor for each. Our last Junior High year we gained one and lost four. Herbert Knight joined the happy throng, and the following left it: Jacqualine Despard, Darlene Lappin, Devota Nash, and Robert Holeman. The next year we shall all remember for many years to come. Initiation and our first year of Senior high school. This year, the country schools supplied us with ten new members. This list includes: Isabel Anderson, Leslie Anderson, Merton Christensen, Jack Fisher, Marvel Roe, Elsie Rowe, Kenneth Smith, Charles Utesch, DeBlonde Johnson, and Raymond Storing. This year we lost four: Robert King, William King, Herbert Knight, and Twila Northness.
