The crew as we knew it in WESTPAC soon ceases to exist. This is the natural order of things in our Navy, but what a shame it is to see the loss of the smoothly operating, force we developed over the past few months. This book, then, is dedicated to all of you who were the crew of LEONARD F. MASON from Octo- ber, 1971, to March, 1972. The hard work, the laughs, disappointments, pleasures and the excitement were all yoursg you made them what they were, an adventure. This was our cruise and there will never be an- other quite like it.
