RevellJ ADMINISTRATION Staff Helps Faculty with Additions, Innovations This year saw several changes intended to improve teachersi working conditions at Leon. Improved sal- aries made vacancies easier to fill and the faculty grew to a size of 95 members. This did not include nine additional teacher aides who handled the over- load of clerical work usually handled by the teach- ers themselves. Also, to aid teachers, new attendance methods and report cards were introduced so that attendance could be more easily checked. A change came in disciplinary supervision as detention hall was ended in favor of a Dean of Students. School days were busy ones for Administrative Assistant Miss Wilfong, Assistant Principal Mr. Conley, and Dean of Students Mr. Talley, as they served in their respective capacities. The Parents Auxiliary continued to lend support to the administrative aspect of Leon High by contri- buting money to the student handbook, which is dis- tributed during the sophomore year and deals with al- most every phase of Leon Highis organization. The Parents Auxiliary also supervised social events by helping to provide chaperones at many of these events. The Leon County School Board gained a new chairman, Mr. Peter Guarisco, and two new mem- bers, Mr. Broward Davis and Mr. Michael Beau- doin, and remained active throughout the year.
Long hours of dedication to Leon were put in by Principal Robert P. Stevens Gefo. Student workers were a vital part of the offices functions. Attendance cards were checked by Kemie Styles and Marcie Corley rabove lefo.
