Between 1953 and 1955, students were transferred to a new building excluding the seventh and eighth grades. The Emblem of Leon remains the same: an old English L held up on either side by a lion. The school colors red and white, signify courage and loyalty. Leon stands tall and proud on her Golden Anni- versary.

To Leon, to Leon X'Ve all sing to theeg Faithful well always be To our dear old Alina Mater, XVe love thy classic halls Forever more, Loyal and ever true Leon, to you. 1907 was the year Leon came to exist. Leon High School was established later in 1911, holding 400 students both grammar and high school. Horance Van Brunt, Everitt Lewis, now deceased and D. C. Dawkins only surviving member, were the only 3 graduates of 1907.
