SCHOOL COMMITTEE SUPERINTENDENT WILLIAM B. APPLETON, A.B., Ed.M. Weare proud of Mr. Apple- ton, Superintendent of Schools, and thankful for his generous service to us. Not only in our high school years, but from the first grade onward his wise de- cisions have been for our good. As head of the Athletic Coun- cil he is credited with much of the success of our football games. Although his program is a busy one, he is always will- ing to be present at assemblies, graduations, and public meet- ings to brighten the program with his anecdotes. His fine personality will always be re- membered by us, the Class of 1954.

OUR PRINCIPAL There is a proverb from the Bible which says, “He that is loose and slack in his work is the brother of him that wasteth his own works.” From this proverb we can learn a valuable lesson. It is true that too many of us are satisfied with doing just enough. No one is eager to put himself out to do a little extra unless, as he puts it, “There is something in it for me.” To do our work faithfully and thoroughly is a great asset that will not escape unnoticed. Courtesy is another forgotten trait that should be revived; it goes a long way toward creating a good impression. Very often, because of forgetfulness or thoughtlessness, we neglect to consider the feelings of others. By doing our work well and being courteous to others, we will create lasting, good Verdot 1), Fccharabe 12 impressions.
