A CREED FOR YOUTH IN OUR TIMES I know that I am living in a time of Crisis. I know that I may be called to the far corners of the earth to serve my country and free mankind. I may even have to sacrifice my life, or part of it, in order that others may live in freedom and in peace. I know that three times in this century youth has been called on to fight a “war to end war, yet there is still no peace. I will not let these horrible wars make me cynical. I know that even the darkest periods of history have been brightened by the spirit of brave men and courageous women. I know that in general man has always improved the world in which he has lived. This progress, I know, has been made possible by millions of my fellow- men who have never made the headlines but who have made their corners of earth a little better for having lived in it. I will, therefore, look forward hopefully. I will prepare myself while there is still time for the good life. I will work a little harder than I have to. I will choose wholesome recreation. I will try each day to render some service, even though it may be small. I will remember that the words of the Great Teacher, “He that loseth his life shall find it,’ do not mean that I must die to find life. He means that in forgetting myself to serve others I shall enrich the life which has been given to me. Mr. DWIGHT S. DAVIs, B.S., Ed.M. Principal of Leominster Senior High School WILLIAM B. APPLETON, A.B., Ed.M. Superintendent of Schools

DED 15G AL EI OgN With deep affection, we, the members of the class of 1953, dedicate our yearbook to Edward Killelea. Throughout his years here on the hill, he has given unfailing service to both the students and the faculty. We know his work has meant a great deal to him, and even though he has left, we know that no one will ever take his place. The dedication of our yearbook is just a small token of our appreciation for all he has done for us. Helping to make our first spaghetti supper a sucess both financially and socially was just one of the numerous kindnesses that he showed us. We wish him happiness and success in whatever he undertakes in the future.

Our sincere thanks go to Mr. Peck and Mr. Rogers for their untiriu, efforts in behalf of the Class of 53. Their assistance and advice were most valuable in making our annual spaghetti suppers and all our other class projects successful.
