May 11 Is Graduation Day Members of the senior class gathered at 8:00 p.m. on May 11th for their final evening together at LHS. Graduates wore yellow roses, their class flower. The stage was decorated in their class colors, yellow and blub. Rev; R.W. Schwarz, pastor of the Salem-Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Long Lake gave the invocation and benediction. Mr. Larry Gauer, a former teacher and coach in Leola who now lives in Bowdle, gave the commencement address. The swing choir sang three selections, I'll Always Remember, We Never Really Say Good- bye, and Friends, I Will Remember You. Joan Hoffman played the processional and recessional. She also played If as the Seniors were receiving their diplomas. Special music for baccalaureate was provided by Jackie Mack, who played a piano solo called The Homecoming, and Clark Neuharth who sang Into His Loving Arms. The processional and recessional were played by Joan Hoffman. 22 Graduation
