We've Got Tonight On April 28, 1979, the junior class of Leola High School presented to the senior class, We've Got Tonight. The gym was decorated in medium blue and silver. A bridge entrance and gazebo in the center of the floor accented this imaginative evening. The banquet started at 8:00 PM with a program and grand march following. The menu consisted of ham, swiss steak, baked potatoes, a salad bar, cake, milk, punch, and coffee. The delicious meal was catered by the Hi-Way cafe and served by Pam Albrecht, Peggy Weisser, Patti Schumacher, Sandy Zulk, Rhonda Waltman, Fred Geffre, Mark Ketterling, Alan Kulesa, Myron Schmidt, and Todd Lechner. A welcome was given by the junior class President Lynne Schemp, and the acceptance was by the senior class President Pearl Sperle. Entertainment followed with Lowell Morrison and John Guthmiller singing Somewhere in the Night . Following the song, Master of Ceremonies Miles Blumhardt introduced our speaker for the evening, Allan Guthmiller. Following the speech, there was more entertainment, and the senior class wills were read by Bill Taylor and the class prophecy, written by Miles Blumhardt, was read by Kristie Fischer. Following a poem by Leslee Meyer, Kevin Heupel sang the proms theme song. After the program, the couples were instructed where to go to line up for the grand march. Music was provided by Precious Cargo from Aberdeen, South Dakota. The theme song was played by the band during the entrance of the couples to the Grand March.
