Marsha And Tim Chosen Homecoming was celebrated in Leola on September 22. Coronation took place Friday morning in the gym. Queen Marsha Geffre and King Tim Rath were chosen by the student body. Classes, clubs, mixed chorus, and swing choir provided entertainment for the morning festivities. After lunch the parade began with the band marching to That Old Black Magic . The Pirates took on the Northwestern Wilcats at the annual Homecoming game. The Pirates came out victorious with a score of 30-0. A disco dance held at the gym ended the Homecoming festivities. Sweetheart Ball The Sweetheart Ball, originally scheduled for February 16, 1979, was postponed because the weather was disagreeable. It was rescheduled for the following week, but again finally cancelled. The sophomore class instead sponsored a KABR disco dance in April. Denise Hoffman and Kevin Heupel were belatedly crowned Sweetheart King and Queen, however, on May 9 at the Award's Day Program. Other members of the royal court were Shirley Kessler, Kathy Brandner, Jolene Zenker, Dana Leibel, Mike Waltman, and Jody Hoffman. OPPOSITE: Sweetheart Queen Denise Hoffman and Sweetheart King Kevin Heupel. Sweetheart Royalty were : Shirley Kessler, Kathy Brandner, Jolene Zenker, Queen Denise Hoffman, King Kevin Heupel, Mike Waltman, Jody Hoffman, and Dana Leibel. 18 Sweetheart Ball
