Honors Reflect Senior Efforts Eight students from the graduating class of 1979 were honored for their various efforts. Jackie Mack was chosen as Leola's Daughter of American Revolution candidate. She was also chosen as a Girls' State representative from Leola. The two Boys' State representatives from Leola were Mike Adam and Clark Neuharth. Long Lake Girls' Stater was Colette Hoffman, and Boys' Stater was Tim Rath. The five seniors graduating with honors were Jackie Mack, highest honor; Clark Neuharth, high honor; and Joallen Heyd, Georgiann Lapka, and Pam Weiszhaar, honor. OPPOSITE: Those attending Girls' and Boys' State from Leola and Long Lake were: Mike Adam, Clark Neuharth, and Jackie Mack, Leola, and Colette Hoffman and Tim Rath, Long Lake. Marsha And Tim Chosen Homecoming was celebrated in Leola on September 22. Coronation took place Friday morning in the gym. Queen Marsha Geffre and King Tim Rath were chosen by the student body. Classes, clubs, mixed chorus, and swing choir provided entertainment for the morning festivities. After lunch the parade began with the band marching to That Old Black Magic . The Pirates took on the Northwestern Wilcats at the annual Homecoming game. The Pirates came out victorious with a score of 30-0. A disco dance held at the gym ended the Homecoming festivities.
