Sophomores Choose Just Want To Be Your Everything The Sweetheart Ball, sponsored annually by the sophomore class, was held February 17, 1978, from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The coronation and the dance were held in the Legion Hall for the first time this year. Evergreen provided the music for the dance which was open to the public. Pastel colors decorated the Legion and punch and nuts were served. Last year's royalty, Tim Rath and Jenny Rau, crowned the 1978 Sweetheart King and Queen, Joe Leibel and Colette Hoffman. Other members of the royal court in- cluded Lori Schnaidt, Denise Hoffman, Marsha Geffre, Jody Hoffman, Miles Blumhardt, and Keith Kracke. Juniors Host “I Like Dreamin At the Jr. Sr. Prom Banquet, the juniors' mothers prepared the meal. The program was opened by toastmistresses Deb Goebel and Deb Bender. Jackie Mack gave the welcome which was accepted by John Fischer. The speaker, Reverend Marlin Wangsness, gave a speech on dreams. Solos were sung by Colette Hoffman, Tim Rath, Keith Kracke, and Clark Neuharth. Pearl Sperle read a poem which she had written. The wills were read by Marty Geffre and the prophecy by Noreen Schaffner. David Redfield provided the music. UPPER LEFT: Carla Merkel and Tod Gohl cross the bridge.
