BUCS ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE A young Pirate football squad began the season against the Ipswich Tigers and were downed by one touchdown. The Pirates, ham- pered by an injury in the first game, then traveled to Do land and were shut-out 14-0. The Pirate gridiron suffered defeats in the next four games, being disabled by further injuries and the loss of John McQuarie, who moved to Clear Lake. The Leola eleven came back in the last game against Aberdeen Catholic, defeating them 34-14, to end the season on a less dismal note.
