cMa+iAi fyill Qua J ieoAuAe. Gli it • To our Mothers and Fathers---- whose hands have guided our voyage through these years of life-----whose love and encouragement have inspired us during our four years of high school ----whose purpose has been to give us a huge store of such valuable treasures as perseverance, faith, ambition, and loyalty—to the parents of the Senior Pirates we respectfully dedicate the Buccaneer of 1957. 3

Best-dressed Pirates of 195 -57 are typical of the crew that sails our worthy craft. Individuals are identified on page 21. Qu i Ite OuSi teciiutei Throughout their four years of adventure on the seas of high school education, the Pirate seniors have found the good ship L.H.S, a staunch and seaworthy vessel.Becalmed on occa- sion; buffeted by the storms of temporary failure.minor dis- sension, and passing dissatisfaction at tlmes;gliding swiftly over the whaleroad at others, the Pirate yeomen have gathered a vast store of treasured memories. Some of them they gained with the aid of their fellow passengers; some of them attest to senior enterprise alone; all these treasures are offered to the reader to see,to value, and to discuss. Historically speaking, pirates are not classed among the noble people of the world, but our motive has always been to do good for others, as v ell as for ourselves. Our treasures have all been won in fair combat, and we»ve hoisted the Jolly Roger as fair warning to all with whom we have competed for honor. Of the Buccaneers who follow us at the helm of the wood Ship L.H.S.---our Pirate Home----we ask that they will uphold the ideals and traditions of our ship and add only the best to our treasure trove. 2
