i FT I V High School Sextette: Mar- cella Balliet, Marianne Young, Virginia Koerner, Shirley Swanson, Joyce Brosz, Eelila Jundt. SCENE IV MUSIC Vocal music, under the direction of Mr. Wendell Garwood, enjoyed a successful year at Leola High School. Competing in the State Regional Contest, Leola High musicians were awarded one first, four second, and two third places. Joyce Brosz received a superior in the piano. Eelila Jundt, and Virg- inia Koerner, contralto; Shirley Swanson, soprano; Allen Kulm, tenor; and the Sextette, composed of Joyce, Shirley, Eelila, Marcella Balliet, Marianne Young, and Virginia Koerner all re- ceived an excellent rating. Martin Kulm, baritone, and Alma Eichelberg, mezzo-soprano, were given a good rating. The outstanding event for the music groups was the Christmas program in which the mixed chorus, the girls1 glee club, and various soloists and small groups participated in singing yuletide selections.
