PRINCIPAL Br. T. B. Regan, Principal Dear Graduates: I like to think of each graduating class as a distinct personality. A class is a dis- tinct personality, for it is formed from new groups. The class of 1959 is well bal- anced — it has a good scholastic rating as well as athletic prowess. Class ' 59 is a cultured gentleman and. I think one may safely say, a very good Catholic. God has created man for life. He made him with all possibilities of develop- ment and expansion. God desires that we cooperate with His grace in unfolding our inner possibilities. Time is lent to man for the continued flowering of his capabilities. It is an era of growth in which his personal life develops towards Heaven. The world. Dear Graduates, in which your personality must unfold itself is, in part, brightened with promise of more abundant life and, in part, it is overcast by the fear of a catastrophic war. One cannot erase from the mind of man the knowledge of the atomic nucleus with all its fearful possibilities of destruction. However, you, Dear Graduates, with your developed talent can channel the forces of atomic energy into peaceful ways beneficial to mankind. In other words, use your capabilities to the fullest so that your influence for good will be felt in your respective fields. It is difficult to imagine what course this new era will take. There is one sure route that will see you safely through it and lead you to your eternal destiny and that is the path pointed out by Holy Mother Church.
