Q INDUSTRIAL ARTS . HE FIRST few weeks of the school year was devoted to mechan1cal drawlng and the study of plan of pro cedures and thelr relatlon to the projects we were to construct later Most of the years work was wlth soft Woods due to the fact that hardwoods were stlll almost lmposslble to obtam However a few of the boys were able to brlng some walnut and oak from home thus bemg able to ex perxence work 1n such woods Both shop classes were requlred to make broom hold ers as thelr first projects after these were fimshed they had thelr cholces Throughout the year such projects as hall trees book shelves modermstxc end tables table lamps foot stools Jumplng standards wash benches clothes closets handkerch1ef and magazme racks were made by the boys Each and every project that left the shop was a credlt to all concerned and certalnly a P1609 of equlpment that could fit 1nto any home The boys really dld a fine Job Our shop has certalnly grown 1n the past year and wlll compare to any 1n thls part of the state as new power equlpment was purchased and to date we have rece1ved our new clrcular saw and new band saw Our new lathe had not arrlved as yet at th1S WI'lIlI'lg though It 1S expected any day Along w1th all the war surplus equlprnent that we are recelvlng at regular lntervals we find our shop a pleasure to work 1n Now when we can find a mechanlcal devlce to sweep the shop we are sure shop classes w1ll double 1n those dGSlI'1l'lg to take the course LENOX HIGH SCHOOL 7 . . . - - ' 7 . . . , V. . . . . . 7 v . . , L , - ' . . . .
