A It was the best of times! It was the trip to Puno, Peru made by 15 students and 6 fa- culty staff members. We left on May 13, 1986 to travel to a village high in the Andes mountains to build an elemen- tary school. We built the school from the foundation to the roof with our hands. We worked hand in hand with the Peruvians and made many long-lasting friends in the pro- cess. This school will stand long after we, the builders, are gone. It will stand not only as a place for children to learn their ABC ' s, but as a monu- ment to the best in humanity — the giving of oneself to make the world a better place The worst of the best? Get- ting used to cold showers, no electricity, and primitive bathroom facilities (if any). The best of the best? Experi- encing a new and different culture, building friendships that will last a lifetime, and making a lasting contribution to the world for the better- ment of mankind. — Nancy Semones Wonder what they are up to!
