OUTDOOR CONCERT This year the Program Board dedicated itself to pleasing the Student Body at Lenoir-Rhyne. One way they did this was to offer a wide variety of activities. Some of the activities which they sponsored were ones which had not been held at Lenoir-Rhyne in recent years. One such event was an outdoor concert. This concert was held between the Lineberger Administration Building and the Cromer Center. It featured the Skip Castro Band from Charlottesville, Virginia. Students as well as faculty turned out for the concert. All those in attendance enjoyed the event. 20 On Campus

WEEKEND Each fall the parents of all Lenoir-Rhyne College students are invited to spend a weekend on the College campus. This weekend is called Parents ' Weekend. Parents ' Weekend 1984 was held September 28-29. Among some of the special events featured were the mime show with Dr. Tom and Seuss which was held on Friday and Saturday, a dance for students and parents on Friday night, various meetings with the faculty on Saturday morning, and a chance to meet President John Trainer on Saturday afternoon. A Bar-B-Que dinner cook-out was sponsored on Saturday evening. Special music at this event was provided by the L-R Music Department and a Bluegrass band. The day ended with the L-R vs Elon football game in the College Stadium. The weekend ended on Sunday with a worship service at St. Andrews Lutheran Church folloowed by a luncheon in the College Cafeteria. On Campus 19

DR. TOM AND SEUSS ' The Lenoir-Rhyne Playmakers along with the Catawba County Council for the Arts, Inc., the North Carolina Arts Council, and the Grass Roots Art Bill presented a mime show, Dr. Tom and Seuss as part of the Parents ' Weekend festivities. Four performances were presented. They took place in the Belk Centrum. The shows were well attended and were enjoyed by everyone who took advantage of the opportunity to see them. This event was only one of the many fine events sponsored by the Playmakers throughout the year. On Campus 21
