SPECIAL COLLECTION THE DEAN ROBERT L. SPULLER B.S., M.S., Ph.D. Dr. Robert L. Spuller, Professor of Biology and Chairman of the Department, was chosen by President Anderson to serve as acting Dean of the College, following the resignation of Dr. James M. Unglaube from that post. Dr. Spuller will continue in the Dean ' s Office until a perma- nent dean is found. Associated with the Dean ' s Office is Mr. Steve Shuford, Registrar; Dr. Clyde Taylor, Director of Teacher Education; Dr. Lee Dubs, Director of the Interim; Mr. Bill Mauney, Director of the Summer Session; and Mrs. Janie Carlton, Director of Continuing Education. Mrs. Leah Johnson is secretary to the Dean of the College. 19

THE PRESIDENT Dr. Albert Anderson, a native of North Dakota, is in the second year of his pSesidency of Lenoir-Rhyne College. Chosen to head LR in August, 1976; inaugurated in January, 1977; Dr. Anderson is a graduate of Concordia College, Luther Theological Seminary, and Harvard University. In his brief presidency to date. Dr. Anderson has shown him- self to be a scholar who possesses a keen sense of humor; and a gentleman who is as much at home with Plato as he is at a football pep rally. The chief executive has spearheaded a study of the college ' s goals and purposes and is actively involved in an ambitious campaign to raise funds to complete much-needed building projects on campus.
