RETURNERS ARE KEY TO SEASON The 1981 Softball team was again this year loaded with ex- perience and talent. Their list of All-League candidates included, Lisa Louise Mann, Noemi Rivera, Dennisse Mercado, Sharon Washington, and Lisa Trespalacios. At the helm was second year Coach Wheeler, who told the Troubador reporter, ‘‘Our goal is to try to make it to the CIF play-offs again this year; he also stated that the team had the potential, and ability to reach it.” Captains of the team are Sharon Washington and Dennisse Mercado. 1. JV’s give it all they got Though most of the JV’s tennis squad is made up of Freshmen ... Sophomore Romeo Plascencia and Junior Dennis McGregor try to keep the JV’s looking good. Much help came from freshmen Victor Gonzales who won most of his tennis matches. Though the JV’s did not end up as they would have liked they did have a good season thanks to Chris Roles a magnificent coach and a former Lancer Tennis player. 1. RR A = YOUNG TEAM This young and unexperienced team has a lot of raw talent, this is being developed by coach Alice, ‘‘this team won’t quit because winners don’t quit.’ They were young but, there were players that stood out, these were Ann King, Connie Constance, and Kelly Kocis. 1.
