Tracksters Get Off Although the turn out for Varsity track was disap- pointing, several individuals stood out and surpassed what people expected of them. Carlos Gonzalez and Todd Smith were outstanding in the hundred and relays; and Gus Vietia, David Saenz and Sergio Yepez were three of the best in the mile and the two mile; also there was Herbert Calvillo and Letchin Parker who were good competitors in the shot put. JV Booters Come on Strong Combining teamwork, enthusiasm and determination to win, and you have the Lancer JV soccer team. Following a slow start, the JV team proved to be an out- standing group of competitors. They provided colorful and ex- citing action for their soccer fans. Coach Gutierrez said, ‘‘The JV team is a pleasure to see and coach because they are full of life; they play every game like it was the Super Bowl.”
