Jayvee Volleyball This years junior varsity players had tough league competition like the varsity, the JV’s often found them- selves facing teams that were much taller and a great deal more experienced than the locals. The JV’s came out of the season placing 5th. 38 Cross Country Injury upset season Lennox Cross Country team started out on the right foot, but ended on the wrong shoulder. An outstanding athlete and top runner on the squad, Sergio Yepez, in the middle of the season, broke his shoulder. This disaster hurt the team as well as Sergio, because the injury kept him out the rest of the season. The team kept running strong, though, despite this injury placing fourth place in league. At the Fall Sports Banquet awards Sergio Yepez was awarded Most Valuable Player on the team. Jose Garcia won the Coaches Award, while Carlos Culqui won most Improved. na NEN He 4 1. Gus shows his disappointment in a one-point loss. 2. Jorge and Alex, first string Varsity runners, keep their spirit. 3. Gus gives Jose a pep talk as a new- comer on the team. 4. Varsity Coach James is checking the time of one of his runners: ‘‘not bad.’’
