LenKota Lennox high school takes pride in its paper, The Lennox High School Pep-A-Graph, not only because it has taken seven first place rat- ings during the past ten years in departmental papers in its division, but also because it paints a graphic and word picture of realistic school life. The journalism class serves as a feeding field for the Pep-A-Graph staff, which is changed every semester. Classified as a depart- mental paper, it is published as a full page paper in the Lennox Independent each weekg a policy foreign to most departmental school papers. The paper was edited by Delores Hillman the first semester of this year, as a carry-over of last year, with all former members of the staff serving. Vivian Hofer, former associate editor took over at the start of the second semester. Repeating its past performances, the paper re- ceived both a first place rating, and an All- State Superior in SDI-ISPA competition last fall. Arrangements have been made to enter the Pep-A-Graph for an All-American rating this year. . e.,LenKota Lenlfoka Plays Dramatics in Lennox High School, while not considered a major or year-round activity, pro- vides the main method of financing the various classes and organizations. The first production each fall is by the Senior class, with the Junior class giving their play in the early spring. The returns from these plays are used to pay for a gift to the school and senior expenses, and for the junior-senior banquet respectively. A third program was added to the list this year, the LenKota program, consisting of a series of four one-act plays and pantomimes interspersed with musical numbers. The True Story of Captain John Smith a pantomime, presented by mem- bers of the speech class, was a humorous take- off on the well known character. Squaring It Witli The Bossf, the second play presented by the speech class, was of a more serious nature, but with a lively tempo. These were under the direction of juDean Sletvold. l'In the Sudsf' was cast with three characters selected from among the student body, it demonstrated the proper method for a hen-pecked husband to cope with a lordly wife, and her mother, and was under the direction of Miss Grace Nichol. When five hundred was onrered for the return of the jewels, some employees of the hotel commenced to work on the case, each believing he had the criminal.
