The kids did a great jobfthis year, said Slavin, a biology teacher at Burlington County Vo-Tech High. f'But We are expecting to do well again next season as well as in the near future because I have some excellent experienced sophomores and freshmen. We've been fortun- ate to have a lot of balance and depth. Many teams have one or two top kids and then have to search around for a third in order to score well. But I have five girls who are really good. This depth helps us when anyone gets sick or suffers a minor injury. We can call on good reserves. Slavin was high in his praise of the team. These girls are coopera- tive and hard-working, he said. They practice seriously and are competitive with each other be- cause of the depth we have. But they are also supportive of each other, and that means a lot to team morale. They're a good bunch of kids. I look forward to coming back to coach them. Perfection Won 9 Five of Coach Slavin's girls gave Lenape great balance and scoring ability and all will be back.
