The uwhyn is of utmost importance because knowing Hwhym enables the student to study mathematics independ- ently throughout life. In our civilization the areas of knowl- edge are constantly expanding and this expansion brings with it new problems which require mathematical solutions 3 perhaps even involving mathematics which is not known to- day.
