THl With all the crazy people running around L.H.S. Mr. Wilson felt like we needed to capture their true personality, so the school invested in a new darkroom. We were also able to have a photography class last hour. One of the newer inventions in society, is the computer. Our school was fortunate enough to have Mr. Downing push for the opportunity to become involved in computer programming. Although the class is called Computer Math, they are learning the basic language of the computer. The school itself took on many changes. The lockers were put into the wall, the library was closed off and two new rooms were made. The library was then moved to the room off of Mr. Woody's office. Many rooms on the upper floor were remodeled and insulated. Now instead of everyone hollering about being cold now they complain about being too hot. With these thoughts in mind, we hope you enjoy this yearbook because: “THE BEST IS YET TO COME.” The yearbook staff 82-83 L-R: Randy Cole — Member, Louis Matthews. Well, we do and her name is Camilla Wiren she is from Upplands-vasby, Sweden. The population is about 35,000. When asked how she got to come to the states she told us that she had received a scholarship from the ASSE (American Scandinavian Student Exchange). Camilla said that she had lived in Hiawatha, KS before coming to LHS. Camilla's father is an Orthopedic Surgeon and her mother is a nursing instructor. She has an older brother Tobias who’s 18 and a younger sister named Emma who’s 14. Camilla’s hobbies are listening to music, (except country) watching TV, horseback riding, swimming, reading books, going to movies and being with friends. We also asked her what some of the people in Sweden do in their spare time. The list included downslope skiing, sailing and tennis are the most popular. Camilla has graduated from a 9-year compulsory school and plans on continuing to Upper Secondary School. She has learned several languages in school which include English, German, Spanish and her native Swedish. She hopes to learn Russian next year. She said that living in the U.S. differs a lot from Sweden. She also said that she couldn't say how Lenapah differs from schools in Sweden she hasn’t been here long enough. Can anyone guess what her favorite food is? It's American Hamburgers of course! After school she plans to work at the Embassy or something where she has the possibilities to travel. Camilla: We hope that you have an enjoyable stay while you are here at LHS. 6 DIANE BRINKMAN SUSAN AMES JUNIOR BENFER CAROLYN CLARK PHILLIP EASTHAM ANGIE FOLK JERAL FRITZ SAM HASTINGS AMI HENSLEY i a w P F Vi V ,% f ■ BOYD HERRIMAN ANDY HICKS 8 SHERRI KUEHN WADE LAMB DAVID LAWRENCE ANITA HOLT JONI HOOK SONIA HURD GLEN KASTLER LOIS KEENE CAROL KNISLEY TRACY MANN DONITA MATOS LISA MATTHEWS TRACY McCLURE PAULA NOLTE NANCY OESTMANN MANUEL NEALE JANETTE SCOTT 10 GINGER SMITH KAREN SMITH SHERRY SPEARS GARY STEVENS BRENDA SWANSON SHERRIE THORPE LINCOLN TURNEY JEANETTE WEST MARGARET WILLIAMS 11 JEFF WOODS RON CHOATE MIKE WILSON L-R: Jeral Fritz — Vice President, Carol Knisley — Parliamentarian, Diane Brinkman — President. These students, elected by the student body were responsible for Homecoming Dances, both football and basketball, faculty ball games, Lenapah School News Report heard each Monday on KGGF radio, election of Student of the Month Awards, and many other things too numerous to mention. Student Council is also responsible for the new Senior Panel Display, along with the Seniors of '83,' which is located in the gym. These are just a few of the things that make the LHS Stu-Co a success. ■ 0 r 4th Row: Sammy Fink. Raymond Gillespie, Robby Scott. 3rd Row: Angie Matthews. Michaele Gordon.
