An outstanding 10-0 record in league, plus a most impressive 13-3 pre-season mark, added to their 1-1 Valley Playoff record, earned Fred Mahoney and his Tigers the honor of being the winningest team in the history of LHS Basketball! There were two more things to polish up their glimmering seasong one was the selection of Harvey Marable, Gene Paulo, and Dick Gudmun- son to the 1st Team All-League in the WYL, and number two was the naming of Coach Fred Ma- honey as WYL Coach of the Year! Congratulations Tigers on your fine performance and your vic- torious season. You showed the fans, the school, and yourselves, that were 4? 1. Russell Cansler takes a shot from the top of the key. Heads Up Kittens Co Champions When a coach is promoted from Frosh Basketball to J.V. one does not expect miracles, but it hap- pened anyway. Coach Jim Gordon took his knowledge of the game and his skills in coaching and created a co-championship! With a com- bination of speed and quickness, plus heads-up play, the Kittens were on their Way to the top. Close games were characteristic of most of them all season long. They didn't rap up a spot for the title until the second to the last game of the sea- son. If the last game could've been theirs, then they would have been champs all by themselves, but a co-champ is better than no-champ! They may be from the smallest school in the league, but their 15-5 record says it alll JV s FRONT ROW: Dan Paulo, David Houston, Greg Marshall Joe Luis Keith Neal BACK ROW Coach Jim Gordon, Keith Silva, Ken Wintz, Robert Lancaster Tom Nlsbet John Crowley Kevin Mc Glothlm imgrj.
