BACK ROW: Steve Peyton, Paul Hillenbrand, Cormac Meehan, Dean Strausbaugh, John Larcabal, Victor Hermansen, Doug Luis. , The harriers had a well balanced attack and seemed to be the ones to outrun. These runners deserve a lot of recognition because who puts in more hours of practice than they do? NOBODY. They are up at the crack of dawn run- ning around, rain or shine. They run after school too. By the time a meet comes around these athletes are ready to go, go, go!, and they usually do just that. They fin- ished with a fine team effort from everybody. The girls are up and coming too. They practice equal- ly as hard as the guys, which con- sists of running at least five miles a day. Setting the pace for the Tigers was John Covington, who set a new school record in the three mile course. The women runners were headed by Fresh- man Susan Lafleur, a fleet footed rookie. GIRLS. Torres Chosen Tiger of the Yeari' Here we are, at the second annual Powderpuff games at good 'ole LHS! The stands are packed, even though the temperature is chilly, and the crowd has blood in its' eye. The players are nerv- ous. The players are. . .girls?! Yep, and they are really terrific! They get out there on the field and do their thing and do it well. Spiraling passes rocketed through the air, punts flew like they had wings and those inter- ceptions, WOW! Along with all the excitement on the field, Tony Torres was announced as the 1976 Tiger of the Year and Terri Wal- ton received a trophy for her punt, pass, and kick perform- ance. And the Seniors were tops again! WR- iveimgifiahs ziggy , Tony Torres, with escort Donna Dufur happily accepts his A'Tiger of the Year award from last year's winner, Stephen Cotton. 26 POWDERPUFF Excited Seniors proved who's number one by winning the powderpuff competition. Tony the Tiger Torres presents Terri Walton her award for winning the punt, pass, and kick competition.
