Harrls nur appreeiatinn tn the hnards nf trustees Fifty-three years ago the first Board of Trustees of the Lemoore Union High School Dis- trict was elected. The following men served as trustees: J. H. Thomsen, L. W. Sronce, E. G. Sellers, H. L. Jennings, R. E. McKenna, John E. Kurtz. The Board selected six lots at Fox and B streets as the site for the original school. Since l90l the various Boards of Trustees have kept pace with changing conditions. Fifty years ago a library of l0O books and a science room were added to the new school. In l908 an athletic field was provided, and a manual training building was constructed. ln l923 the people of the District voted S325,000 in bonds to construct the present school building. Since i925 the music and arts building, additions to the original shop building, the pool and the agriculture building have been added to the original school plant. The total valuation of the present plant is now in excess of one and one-half million dollars. All of the present educational facilities represent the dreams, visions, and inspirations of the people of this district. The position of a trustee is one of public trust and responsibility. As the public school is the bulwark of American progress, the trustees have constantly striven to make the school an efficient instrument of social progress. Many have served as members of the Board of Trustees of the Lemoore Union High School District. They have devoted much time to the study of our school and its needs. We are deeply gratified for their interest in the welfare of youth, and we wish to express our appreciation to them for their untiring efforts to make the Lemoore High School an outstanding school.

W H REILLY District Superintendent '1 ' fifty years uf prnqress Fifty years ago the first class graduated from the Lemoore Union High School. There were three members of the graduating class, Maggie Hays, Edward Blank and Arthur Blank. Since 1904, a total of 1989 students have graduated from this school. These graduates are now located throughout the United States and foreign lands. They form links in the chain of educational progress. The people of this District can be justly proud of their accomplishments. I During the past fifty years this country has witnessed the develop- ment of the horseless carriage, the flying machine, radio, television, atomic and hydrogen power and mass production. In these fifty years we have experienced the greatest technological advances ever made by man. Scientists tell us that we may expect even greater advances in the next fifty years. Public education has kept pace with these changing conditions, and it accepts the many challenges of the future. The foresight and courage of those who established the Lemoore Union High School in 1901, an institution which was destined to grow and render service to the youth of this district, was commendable. May the graduates of 1954 experience success. The people who have made your education possible will then be rewarded with the satisfaction that comes to those who have supported good schools and wholesome community life.
