i My Impression of My Classmates Because Helen Martin is able to use her head, she should realize her desire to ba a famous scientist. Louis Mattos is a fellow. I believe, who would rather ride a motorcycle than eat. Suzuye Mayeda has always been a retiring person. She is friendly, though, once one becomes acquainted with her. We all know Onesimo Meiides as Nezzy. He is quitp famous for (his eyebrows. Geraldine Mendonca will be remembered by all as Jerry who was always jolly and fun-loving. Gloria Mideiros has the reputation for the highest scholarship in the class. She will win the Nobel prize some day. I can imagine Jim McCrory a cowboy politician. He likes attention from the girls; he likes his boots, too. Dora McDowell excels in riding horses. She will acquire world fame at horse races. Leonard McGlone shouldn ' t be so quiet if he wants to become a Romeo. Leonaid Newton is one of our athletes who represented us at the West Coast Relays in the broad jump, and did a good job of it. He is tall, slim, and quiet. Elise Nichols excels in doing nothing, except missing school. Jango Nishimine is a swell person who is liked by everyone. Ag Club meeting to-day will be remembered as Frank Pereira ' s often-uttered expression. Gilbert Phillips towers above all of us, and loves baseball. Helen Powell is very effic ient and one upon whom we can always depend. I shall remember her as the fairest member of our class. Gertrude Prys is very tall. She is usually seen with another Gertrude. Millard Roberts likes to pester us. I think he would like to be an honor student. Ailene Rose should win recognition as an artist and a musician. Celestine Rose concentrates his efforts in kidding the freshman girls. Mary Roudebush will always be remembered for her fly-away hair. Her pastime is wishing her work was done. George Sakaguchi is quite persistent in whatever he undertakes. One who aspires to make good grades is Clarence Santos. He exceeds all others in being called to Mr. WaiM ' s office in the morning. Mary Jane Schattgen hates to be called just plain MarV . She is petite and friendly. Dorothy Short ' s one aim in life is to lose weight. She is quiet and pleasant. Josephine Silva has become a successful amateur in dramatics. She is a willing helper on many occasions. Hermenia Silveira may be described as modest. She is very trustworthy. Betty Skoegard expresses herself oddly while tumbling. She excels in getting her big toe injured. I ' ll always remember Elvira Sozinho ' s knack of making up excuses to tell Mr. Ward. Who could cut classes and get away with it better than Ann Stevens! Jack Stratton has always been successful in learning his part in plays at the last rehearsal. Alma Summers is usually found talking about her bqy friends. She should always expect to get dirty looks in glee. The Thomas boys, David and Leo, always seem rather quiet. I wonder if they ' re that way when out with a crowd? Laverne Tuzzi is one of our attractive girls who is very capable, too. Iris West is a person who surprises; the biggest surpriss was last February. Gertrude Westrup is a tall and thin classmate. She is very likeable. Basil Wilson ' s favorite pastime is trying to get his jalopy to run. Joy Wilson ' s nickname could be Red. Lately she has gained the reputation of being a ten o ' clock scholar. I shall remember Hilda Woodward for her beautiful hair. She has the distinction of being the only marimba player of our class. —21—
